It's late and I've just returned to our hotel room after an hilarious afternoon in the hotel lobby. Every single member of our tour group went to Old Trafford today for day one of the third Ashes Test but my sister and I returned to the hotel early as Romy was clearly in need of an afternoon nap. Without a creche facility today, I probably shouldn't have taken her out there anyway.

After the nap, Nicole and I (with Romy) went and sat down in the hotel lobby bar which is located right at the front door of the hotel. There we could watch people coming and going and it meant that Romy had a bit of space to crawl around instead of having to crawl over all of the bags sprawled around our tiny hotel room floor. As the afternoon went on, the remaining members of our tour group slowly started to trickle back into the hotel, each of them joining us in the lobby bar for a refreshing afternoon drink.

One of the girls in our group returned in an especially jolly mood after quenching her thirst all day with white wine. In her defence, it's been an unusually warm day here in Manchester :) This particular lady, even sans wine, is always great fun to be around and often has us in stitches with her quirky sense of humour. I haven't laughed so hard in ages as I did just now - it was great fun just sitting around casually enjoying chats with the girls - our aforementioned friend in sizzling form!

When the boys returned to the hotel at the end of play, 'Ms Tipsy' jumped up to greet her man and accidentally ended up wearing an entire bowl of salsa on the leg of her pants. Oh paparazzi lady, where for art thou now - you've been missing all the best bits!
